We have now entered Winter and you have most likely noticed the change in temperature where it is now much cooler in the mornings. You may have also noticed the change in your skin where it is not as oily and perhaps a little drier and dehydrated after the hot Summer months. Now is a good time to consider changing your products, such as creams and masks, to ones that are a little more hydrating and richer to accommodate the Winter days ahead. If you have been using specialised serums you may choose this time to also make a change to something that will be more nourishing and hydrating for your skin. Don't forget the rest of your body as this will also require nourishing and hydrating as well. We have mentioned a few fantastic products for your body in Education Tips in this issue of QSB News.

This Winter facial package begins with an uplifting facial designed specifically for your skin type using Thalgo products. It will give your skin a boost and leave it feeling soft, hydrated and refreshed with a moisture quenching mask. During your facial treatment we won't forget to nourish the skin around your eyes as well as brightening and defining your eyes and eyebrows with an eyelash tint and eyebrow shape.

Hydrating and Nourishing
A dry skin lacks natural oils (sebum) and is the result of a sluggish sebaceous (oil) gland production. This deficiency can be hereditary, part of the ageing process, or due to incorrectly prescribed products or environmental and lifestyle influences.
With the passage of time a lipid (oil) deficiency will eventually lead to dehydration. The lack of oil diminishes the skin's ability to act as a natural barrier against moisture loss. In other words, when dry skin occurs the intracellular substance (the substance between skin cells that keep them intact, smooth and healthy) has become depleted or damaged, creating water loss.
