A traineeship involves a student completing the qualification with both an employer and a registered training organisation. The trainee and their employer sign a contract to work together. The employer undertakes to train the trainee in all possible aspects of the qualification. The employer and trainee then engage a registered training organisation and negotiate a training plan to complete training for the units of the competency that the employer is unable to complete. The Queensland School of Beauty Therapy offers theory lessons for trainees and any practical training that is required. All theory examinations and practical observations will be completed by the Queensland School of Beauty Therapy to ensure competence in the units of the qualification. Once the trainee is deemed competent in all units they will be issued with their certificate.
Rural Traineeships
For trainees who are employed and live outside the Brisbane metropolitan area, other arrangements can be made to accommodate the trainee depending on how far they have to travel. For example, the trainee may wish to come to Brisbane for one or two full days every two months, or even two or four full days every four months. Please note this course is competency based therefore the duration may vary.
